NOTES

Please join us for a short congregational meeting following worship TODAY to follow up on the question of conference affiliation. Council is recommending that we make a decision to be singly affiliated going forward with Central District Conference . There will be a time for questions and comments before the consensus is sought. Your attendance and participation is valuable.

Next Sunday's worship service will be held at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church. The service will begin at 10:15am and there will be no Sunday School.

THANK YOU to all who have already volunteered for MENNONITE ARTS WEEKEND (February 3-5). We still need several people to help set up on Friday and take down of Sunday. We also need two more people to help with registration as well as an usher for Sunday morning. If you can make time to help out with any of these slots, please sign the volunteer sheet by the mail folders. It would be greatly appreciated.

In response to the popularity of the coffee/treats during these last few Sunday mornings, Kevin A. has added a sign up sheet in the foyer for monthly duty to maintain this offering. If you want this to continue, we need you to sign up to help. There will be several opportunities for people to contribute each month. See sign up sheet for details.

The first event of the CMF 2012 social season will be attending the Tony award-winning Stephen Sondheim musical "Into the Woods" at CCM. Sign up will be in the church lobby for the 2 p.m. matinee on Sat., March 3.Info concerning ticket prices will be on the sign-up sheet and money should be given to Patti G. by Jan 29.(TODAY).

If you have access to the book, please read the Introduction (pages 13-34) before class. Trent H. will be facilitating our conversation on the 12 th as we begin our journey of learning and talking about Mennonite education.

The Christian Education Committee would like to announce that Julia H. and Alex I. will be receiving their CMF Bibles on February 12 during a special Children's Story presentation. Cake is being provided by their families in the foyer to help celebrate this happy occasion!

Happy birthday, Mennonite Church USA! On Feb. 1, 2012, our denomination turns 10 years old. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone and giving thanks for the countless amazing ways that God's Spirit has been at work among us in this last decadein our lives and relationships, in our congregations and communities, in our agencies and organizations. May God bless each of our congregations and strengthen us all in our efforts to live out our denominational vision: God calls us to be followers of Jesus Christ and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to grow as communities of grace, joy and peace, so that God's healing and hope flow through us to the world.
